This is the ultimate recipe for classic margarita jello shots that actually taste like a real margarita, not just sugar. This easy recipe makes about a dozen shots and includes a simple trick for adding a fun green color.

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the gelatin powder into the boiling water and mix well until completely dissolved. Add the tequila, Midori and Bravado Spice Classic Margarita Mix and mix well. Pour into shot glasses or 2oz plastic cups. Chill in refridgerator for at least 4 hours.
  2. Slight dampen edge of dispoable shot cup and dip / roll in rimming salt
  3. Enjoy!

Recipe Notes

  • The Liqueur (For Optional Color): The Midori in this recipe is usedalmost entirely for the bright green color and does not significantly change the classic lime flavor. If you don't have it, you canleave it out completely for a traditional off-white colored shot, or simply use a few drops of green food coloring to achieve the same look.
  • Add a Classic Rim: For an authentic touch, pour some coarse salt onto a small plate. Before you fill the shot glasses, you can lightly moisten their rims with a lime wedge and dip them in the salt.
