Alright, let’s talk about margaritas. How many times have you ordered one, taken a sip, and thought, "Why does this taste like neon sugar water"? Too many times. That's why we don't mess around when it comes to our Classic Margarita Mixer. This isn't just a shortcut; it's your secret weapon for crafting true bar quality margaritas, and a few sneaky twists. Right in your own kitchen. Ready to ditch the neon sugar water and sip on something truly authentic?
Here at Bravado Spice, we know margaritas. We craft them, we drink them, we love them. When we say classic, we mean it. High-quality ingredients, absolutely never any artificial flavors, no neon sugar water colors, and definitely never any high-fructose corn syrup. We obsess over the vibrant tang of lime juice balanced with just enough sweetness to let your tequila sing, not scream. This the best margarita mix if you truly appreciate authentic flavors that require no fuss. Let’s get into some ways to use your Bravado Spice Classic Margarita Mix
What You’ll Need:
2oz Bravado Spice Classic Margarita Mix
2oz Tequila (Blanco for crisp, Reposado for smooth)
A fresh lime wedge
Rim salt, or Bravado Spice Arbol & Garlic Seasoning (for a spicy twist)
How To Mix It:
Shake It Up: Fill your shaker with plenty of ice. Pour in tequila and Classic Margarita Mix, and shake it like you mean it. 15-20 seconds should do.
Rim It Up: Grab your favorite margarita glass. Run that lime wedge around the rim, then dip it into salt. Pro Tip: For those who really love to get that rim locked down, try brushing a bit of agave or honey lightly down just one side of the glass before rimming. This helps the salt or even our Bravado Spice Arbol & Chili Seasoning really hold to the glass better. Classic move, always a winner.
Serve & Chill: Pour your delicious super liquid into your glass, garnish with a lime wedge, and take a proud sip. You earned it.
We all love the classic margarita, but sometimes it is fun to play a little, right? Our mixer is super versatile and is perfect for experimenting with different flavors. Here are a few simple ways that we love to put our spin on a Bravado margarita:
The Spicy Margarita:
You know us, we like it spicy. Muddle 2-3 slices of fresh jalapeño slices in your shaker first before the other ingredients. You can also hit it with a few dashes of your favorite Bravado Spice hot sauce like Pineapple & Habanero.
The Fruity Margarita:
This is a fun twist on the classic margarita. It is the same idea as the spicy twist. Muddle a few pieces of your favorite fruit in the shaker before any other ingredients. My favorite combo of fruit is blueberries, strawberries and mango chunks. You can also make this guy spicy by adding a few dashes of Bravado Spice Ghost Pepper & Blueberry Hot Sauce for a nice kick to contrast the sweetness of the fruit.
The Smoky Mezcal-Rita:
Want to add some depth and intrigue? Swap out half or all of the tequila for Mezcal. That beautiful, smoky agave flavor perfectly complements the bright lime of our mixer. Use this twist when feeling a bit sophisticated and classy.
The Mocktail Spritzer:
Our mixer is not just for the boozy fans. It makes great mocktails, NA beverages and spirit free drinks. Mix any desired amount of our Classic Margarita Mix and give it a splash of sparkling water or club soda like Topo Chico (a Texas favorite). Perfect for enjoying a nice fizz without the hangover!
You thought our Classic Margarita Mix was just for margaritas? Well, you were wrong. Here are a couple ways we love to use the mix beyond just margaritas:
Classic Lime Margarita Jello Shots:
You read that right. Our mixer makes incredible Classic Lime Margarita Jello Shots. We even have an official recipe: Classic Lime Margarita Jello Shots. Easy to make, fun to eat, and perfect for any party this holiday season.
Chicken Marinade:
The citrusy notes in our lime margarita mix make an amazing base for a quick marinade. I have used it to tenderize and pump up flavor in countless chicken breast before baking. It adds a very vibrant, fresh zest that makes the chicken cluck loud and proud.
How I Do It:
Prep Your Chicken: Place 1-1.5 lbs of chicken breasts in a shallow dish or a resealable bag.
Add the Marinade: Pour about 1/2 cup of Bravado Spice Classic Margarita Mixer over the chicken. You can also add a tablespoon of olive oil, a minced garlic clove, and a sprinkle of chopped cilantro if you're feeling fancy.
Marinate: Ensure the chicken is well coated. Marinate chicken for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator.
Cook It Up: Remove from the marinade (discarding any excess liquid) and grill, bake, or pan-sear until cooked through.
Ceviche Marinade:
You know me, if I'm not at the Bravado Kitchen, I'm probably out on the water, usually down at Surfside, Texas, trying to catch some dinner. And let me tell you, there's nothing quite like catching a beautiful redfish or speckled trout, cleaning it right there, and whipping up some quick ceviche on the spot. And guess what my secret weapon is for a quick, fresh cure? Our Classic Margarita Mix! The acidity isn't just for curing your thirst; it makes for a perfect marinade to actually cure your catch. Just make sure to keep a bag of H-E-B tortilla chips on hand.
How I Do It:
Prep Your Fish: You'll want about 1 lb of fresh fish. If you are not on the water, think cod, snapper, mahi-mahi, or even shrimp (peeled and deveined). Dice it into small, uniform 1/2-inch pieces. Place it in a shallow, non-reactive dish (glass or ceramic works great).
Add the Marinade: This is where the magic happens! Pour about 1 cup of Bravado Spice Classic Margarita Mixer over the fish. You can also toss in some finely diced red onion, chopped cilantro, and a little bit of diced jalapeño (or a dash of Pineapple & Habanero) for extra flavor and a pop of color.
Cure: Make sure the fish is fully submerged. Cover the dish and refrigerate. The acid in the mixer will cure the fish. For most fish, this takes about 20-30 minutes, you want the fish to turn an opaque color. If using shrimp, it might be even faster, around 15-20 minutes. Don't over-cure, or it can get rubbery!
Serve: Once cured, drain off some of the excess liquid (but leave a little for moisture and sippin’). Serve immediately with crunchy tortilla chips, fresh avocado slices, and garnish with fresh cilantro.
Whether you're a margarita purist like us, who just wants a perfectly crafted classic, or you're an adventurous home bartender itching to experiment, our Bravado Spice Classic Margarita Mix is your answer to effortless, authentic flavor.
